these allegations. now he was appointed to his position in 2007. according to the san francisco chronical, this incident happened four years ago. he allegedly spent more than $4,500 entertaining shipping industry executives at treasures, this upscale gentlemen's strip club in houston. the problem, he charged the bill to his bosses. it wasn't discovered until now after a series of media public relations request. also he listed the business as d. houston inc. the parent company. right now they're scrambling to get a handle on the visit and see if this was the only misuse of money. >> they're taking this very seriously. we have actually been working on and strengthening our expense poll signed addressing any potential expenditures for several years now. >> he said the investigation is on going and he could not make any more comments. he is out of the country for another conference and has yet to make a statement. to add insult to injury treasures have been linked to prostitution and weapons and sexual assault since 2008. >> all right. thank you. >>> a violent night in oakland, a man was shot

. this afternoon san francisco supervisors will decide if they will remove suspended sheriff ross mirkarimi permanently from office but before that vote, mirkarimi sporters and critics alike are rallying outside city hall and cbs 5 reporter elissa harrington is there with details. >> reporter: before that hearing, some supporters of mirkarimi met on the steps of city hall saying reinstate ross now and his wife is expected to join them and will be at her husband's side during the hearing. many believe his dispute with his wife doesn't affect his ability to do his job. many domestic violence victims advocates say there is a big conflict of interest here. somebody on probation for domestic violence should not be leading the sheriff's department. the case has played out for months at city hall and today, we should know whether or not mirkarimi will keep his job. he was suspended without pay after pleading guilty to misdemeanor false imprisonment. his wife was bruised by the sheriff during an argument. mayor lee says he is not fit for office and tried to remove him. he testified before an eticia

'm michelle griego. if you like lots of things to do, then san francisco is the place for you this weekend. but if you don't like traffic and congestion, you may just want to steer clear. elizabeth wenger joins us with all that's happening around town. >> reporter: hey, good afternoon. that's right. and we're here at america's cup village with a bunch of tents set up by marina green. if you are a sailor, this is the place to be as well as if you're a bluegrass music love or an italian food lover and, of course, one of the biggest draws is going to be fleet week going on this weekend. yes, there is a little bit of something for everyone. so we actually got a little head started and we got to hop on board the uss macon island a navy assault ship here for fleet week. you may have seen it docked in the bay. it's offering tours this weekend, lots of different aircraft on board. it has a mobile surgical center so it could be called in to help san francisco if there was ever an earthquake or other disaster. >> ships like this responded to hurricane katrina in new orleans and ships like this respo

'm michelle griego. ross mirkarimi is once again the sheriff of san francisco. the board of supervisors voted last night to reinstate him despite his domestic violence conviction against his wife. cbs 5 reporter anne makovec is live at city hall and anne, has the sheriff shown up to work yet? >> he has not. he has been laying low for the most part this morning. but he is expected here at city hall this afternoon to meet with interim sheriff vicki hennessey. from what we understand, hennessey will remain technically the sheriff of san francisco until friday when ross mirkarimi will be back at the helm. >> i look forward to demonstrating why the people elected me as sheriff and look forward for me and my family to move in a place where we hopefully will achieve some normalcy again. >> reporter: that's ross mirkarimi on what turned into a victorious night for him at city hall after a marathon session including hours of public comment. four of the 11 supervisors voted in favor of mirkarimi keeping his job as sheriff. jane kim is one of them. she calls mirkarimi's act horrific, bruising his wife'

today at a public memorial right here in san francisco. stevens grew up in the bay area, graduated from cal. senator dianne feinstein as well as libya's ambassador to the united states will attend the service that starts vingire through a restaurant supply store in san carlos overnight. it broke out just after midnight. firefighters battled flames for two hours on washington street. crews did manage to stop from the spreading to nearby buildings. no one was hurt. >>> in san francisco crews spent the early mog fire. it started near the back of the two nav story building in the bayview hunter's point neighborhood. a rear bedroom was damaged but luckily everyone got out safely. firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading to nearby homes. >>> while they were beating the niners some new york giants football players say they had their cars broken into. thieves gained access to the lot where players park their cars in new jersey. police say thieves stole a 1996 chevy owned bia giants player. officials haven't released the names of the players who were targeted. >>> a man loses tho

restaurant right here in san francisco is no more. a fire gutted the structure and made it very difficult for this morning's commute, as well. crews called out to the west portal neighborhood around 4:30 a.m. cbs 5 reporter cate caugiran has been there all morning and joins us with the very latest. cate. >> reporter: frank, michelle, this is one stubborn fire. i want to show you now crews are still here on scene. they are sort of babysitting this building right here. i'm told also that an arson team is on scene. they are going to be starting their investigation, san francisco fire says the fire could have been accidental. it was a fire that would not quit. firefighters say it started at the popular "squat & gobble" restaurant and made its way to four other businesses. >> he saw the flames and everybody. >> reporter: he and his brother own the restaurant for 10 years. right now his brother is out of town. >> this was a -- the restaurant was his baby. he takes care of everything. he has to do it right. >> reporter: frank had to break the sad news that their restaurant was a complete loss. >

which police say wer self- inflicted. the children's father previously lived in san francisco and worked at yahoo. >>> a bay area community college district took a $100,000 hit. it had nothing to do with budget cuts. two former employees accused of embezzling the cash using a district credit card. anne makovec reports from san mateo. >> reporter: one of those employees will be arraigned this afternoon. prosecutors say it's $200,000 and this could just be the beginning. mark anthony and bradley john both 42 years old are charged with several felonies including embezzlement by a public officer, unauthorized use of another person's identification and altering computer data. one worked in the i.t. department of the san mateo county community college district. both had access to a credit card which officers say they used to buy computers and other gear they sold on craigslist and ebay for cash. they were arrested after another employee noticed a strange purchase on the credit card. the district turned it over to police. >> there was a work done in getting records from craigslist and ebay and
